2009 Sectionals

This morning was the coldest and the most challenging of the three days here in Gresham, Oregon. Although the morning marine layer of clouds and fog put a lid on the temperatures-it was a little over 60 degrees with cool moist air, the kids came prepared to swim and did so very well. The opening event for us was the 200 Free. The results were as follows:

Our lone swimmer in the 400 IM was Miss Jamie Nebeker who went a life time best in her 400 IM with a final time of 5:22.92. Her splits were:

Fly: 1:13.62
Back: 1:25.18
Breast: 1:32.06
Free: 1:12.06

HAST Guest swimmer, Calvin Clark went well in the 400 IM and his splits were:

Fly: 1:07.77
Back: 1:19.68
Breast: 1:27.39
Free: 1:05.67

The last event of the morning was the Women's 400 Freestyle Relay. Our four girls were Taryn Toolson, Jamie Nebeker, Kim Welch and Candice Smith. They really swam a great relay in Heat 3 of the Relays. The final two heats go tonight at finals and the girls are sitting in 5 place as of this morning session. The girls splt out as follows:

Our events for tomorrow are the 100 Back, 400 Free, 100 Breast, 100 Fly and the Women's 800 m Free Relay. Tomorrow should be a very very strong day of the HAST swimmers. (*All bolded times are personal best times).
